Here's the latest news as it appeared in The Charlotte Observer:

Alydaar now sole owner of European joint venture

Alydaar Software Corp. has bought out fellow investors and now owns 100 percent of its 6-month-old European joint venture, Alydaar International Plc.

Chairman Robert Gruder said the Charlotte-based software and computer services firm recently acquired the remaining 60 percent of stock it did not already own from the British partner Chase Technology Group and from private investors.

The move means the Twickenham, England-based unit will now function primarily as Alydaar's European marketing arm, with all Year 2000 software code conversions and project management being done in Charlotte.

Meanwhile, Alydaar said the European unit had won a contract to provide Year 2000 computer remediation services to Aer Lingus, the Dublin-based flagship airline of Ireland.
