Bill, that you from PAAS? Hey, don't you agree we need Lawrence Kudlow as the next head of the Federal Reserve?
Just a guess, but I'd say that Bill F. will be supporting Kudlow for Fed chairman shortly after Bill Clinton is put in charge of the White House intern program.
Not to mention that Kudlow would be a disaster as Fed Chair. That's not saying much, because almost anyone nominated in the current atmosphere would be a disaster. As long as the consensus opinion is that Greenspan has to go because he was too tight, any change is sure to be for the worse. However, Kudlow has no chance anyway, and no one in a position to make the decision would seriously consider putting him there. Should Greenspan leave, and if the administration decides to give the keys to the printing press to a Dr. Feelgood, the most likely choice would be "Mr. SUV" himself, Bob McTeer. He's as much of a joke as Kudlow, but he has more credibility in Washington because he runs a Federal Reserve Bank and actually holds a degree in Economics. |
