EEG (8078) in talk to co-op w/ PCCW's now.com.hk

(Infocast News) Vanessa Fan, Executive Director of Emperor Entertainment Group (8078), said that it spent $33 million of the proceeds raised from the listing to settle part of the $51.6 million consideration for 100% equity interest of EMG, changing the use of proceeds as stated in the prospectus. She said the company had no plan to acquire EMG at the time of listing. As both the company and EMG operate artist management, the acquisition is expected to bring synergy.

The company intended to focus on local market in the first and last quarters this year, and eye Taiwanese market in the seond and third quarters. Four singers of the company will issue Mandarin albums; and it intended to invest NT$20 million (nearly $4.5 million) for the promotion of Eson Chan Mandarin album. The company issued 76 albums last year; a similar number of issues is expected this year.

The company is in talk with now.com.hk, a subsidiary of PCCW (0008), for cooperation to provide songs and recordings. The company believed that the cooperation will help to promote itself.

She added that it would not be affected by the resignation of the former CEO.
