GX will have to continue spending money to stay competitive. Within the 2003/04 timeframe for example, GX will have to spend on 40 GBIT. What is the depreciation of 11B$ in lit fiber? My guess is that at least 2B$ capex a year is necessary to keep the stuff state of the art.
