Bush's statement tonight is consistent with his previous views. By drawing the line between future destruction of embryos and use of the 60 lines that have already been destroyed, he's maintained consistency.

I'm sure the point will be lost on the press, Daschle, and the rest of the left wing. They already don't get it:

"The move is certain to draw fire from abortion opponents, including leaders of the Roman Catholic Church, who say the research is immoral because embryos from which the cells are derived are destroyed in the process." (emphasis added to note failure to distinguish between past and present tense. You'd think journalists could do that).
