WebTV Networks announces partnership with Mitsubishi Consumer Electronics America at E3
TV giant to deliver WebTV products this year
WebTV Networks Inc. today announced that Mitsubishi Consumer Electronics America (MCEA) has agreed to sell WebTV set-top boxes under the Mitsubishi brand, through its national dealer network to U.S. consumers nationwide. Product will be available in retail outlets this holiday season. "WebTV Networks is proud to be associated with Mitsubishi, known for its leadership in the television and consumer electronics industry," said Steve Perlman, president and CEO of WebTV Networks Inc. "This agreement demonstrates our continued commitment to partnering with the industry's first tier consumer electronics companies. WebTV Networks is a leader in providing Internet services through the television, with more than 85,000 WebTV Networks subscribers and customer satisfaction levels exceeding 90 percent. Sixty-seven percent of WebTV Network subscribers connect to the Internet through WebTV each day. "We believe that WebTV Networks has the best technology and most compelling service available for bringing the Internet to consumer televisions," said Max Wasinger, vice president of sales and marketing of MCEA.
