it's been a big joke for a long time because some people take life too seriously and look absurd while doing so. It's pretty clear who takes this seriously and who amuses themselves at their expense. An afterthought for some is a focus of life for others so it causes this nutso behavior, and yes it is encouraged...everyone should just be cool and get over themselves.
