Maybe a major but unspoken part of the problem is that the markets realize that our "president" isn't very presidential. On TV last night he looked more like Alfred E. Newman caught in the headlights than the leader of the Free World. I think even Republicans are subconsciously depressed at his failure to engender confidence. Does anyone realistically expect him to take positive actions that might lead us out of this economic malaise?
