Although you don't specifically cite the CPI when you say the trend for inflation is still up, even given today's PPI, seems to me it wasn't very long ago that everybody was saying that the CPI overstates inflation. Maybe Greenspan has more room than everybody thinks...if he too thinks that CPI overstates inflation.
