OK, but many took the term to mean that we had enhanced-away economic cycles and/or that old economic concepts such as return on invested capital no longer applied.

BTW, there is still a lot of debate over whether the big jump in the rate of productivity improvement in 1995-2000 vs. the prior several decades is really the result of technology-induced structural changes or, rather, just a cyclical improvement that was focused primarily in the technology industries themselves. Personally, I don't know. I just try to pick good companies selling on the cheap.
