A boo-boo by the WSJ. As you say Clarinex is a non-sedating antihistamine, not an asthma drug.

The FDA is holding up a drug that isn't directly related to the manufacturing problems because it is the biggest club they have. (They presumably didn't want to hold up Peg-Intron which was recently approved because there is a medical need for it).

I read that the FDA is also threatening a suit against SGP for disgorgement of profits. Conceivably SGP could settle this and get Clarinex released at the same time. However I don't see that happening until a new FDA commissioner is in place.
