Yes, but don't you think that everyone should be able to get the living will and medical power of attorney off the back of a cracker-jack box? Or at least at the local county offices? Why should the couple have to cough up their tax rebate and still end up with something that may not work if they are taken ill in another state? Or in a couple of years when medical technology comes up with some new life extension technique?

I just mentioned gay couples because the lack of paperwork may be even more problematic for them. They may have additional complications with family. It seems to me, this kind of security is a lot of what the gay marriage movement is about.
