If you restrict it to a politician, then he would not, indeed, insult constituent, but he may play to their prejudices. For example, Fundamentalist bashing is not unknown among liberal politicians. But I was not thinking primarily about politicians, but rather about people like EJ Dionne, in his now infamous characterization of Evangelicals as poor, uneducated, and easily manipulated (on the front page of the Post). Even statistically, it was bunk. Evangelicals are above average earners, and have more education than the average American.......
