No, they were sold to the Iranians at hugely inflated prices to raise money to fight the war in Nicaragua that Congress had cut off funds for. And Ollie North essentially copped a plea with congress in exchange for his testimony which then could not be used against him in a court of law..... And yes, he was convicted of lying ot Congress....
