Do not be surprised by a limited nuclear exchange within the region within the next five years. The root cause? The intractable Israeli right-wing goons. Israel has right wing goons and other intractable people. They however are unlikely to launch a nuclear attack on anyone who is not attacking them or at least threatening them with imminent attack. The Arab countries didn't care enough about the Palistinains when they controlled much of Palestine to create a Palestinian home land. I doubt they care enough to lose their capital cities to try to force Israel to create a Palestinian state now. When Arabs have negotiated in good faith with Israel, Israel has returned conquered land. They offered to give land for a Palestinian nation but the PLO shot down the idea because they wanted even more. Instead of negotiating the Palestinians resorted to violence. If the violence and growing hatred turns to war or even nuclear war the "intractable Israeli right-wing goons" will certainly play a role and have some responsibility but the root cause will be the Arabs refusal to recognize Israel. If Israel faces no danger of attack it will not attack any of the Arab countries. Tim
