Nope. Often -- too often -- lawsuits are about stalling, not about resolving a dispute. Especially where a patent is involved, a case can go on for years and years without even "discovery" (fact finding) starting. One example is the "Edata" case where there's been a "markman" hearing (interpreting words of the patent), an appeal, a remand... over (something like) 5 years and many many 100's of thousands of dollars of legal fees.

But as long as the fun's going on, there's a chance a big victory will happen eventually (for the guy that invented "intermittant windshield wipers" it took about 30 years -- really -- tho' I thihnk he got 100's of millions in the end). And the hope of a big victory gives TRKR more credibility -- so TRKR hopes -- than a small settlement would.

This prob has more than my usual offenses against spelling... sorry, no time...
