Anyone for SHIBUMI by Trevanian (SP?), I thought it was an interesting read, might make a good movie. It's great to see the variety of titles by Rand, Heinlein, Davies etc. It's been a while since reading most, and Fifth Business brings me right back to the late seventies in high school.

I'm trying to remember a book that I really struggled through in high school by a Quebecois author, about a boy who stared at his image in a pond (it's on the tip of my tongue). Speaking of struggling through then eventually enjoying things, I guess Beowulf was a little before the time frame in the header. Come to think about I' m not sure the books I have mentioned like the guide and Shibumi really fit the title "greatest" either, more like books I have fond memories of reading.

While I'm rambling, what book was Hortense Muskelunge 13 McBundy a character in?

regards, john
