I don't remember what happened to Eliot Abrams, but Cap Weinberger was in deep do-do and had to be pardoned to save his tail. As regards costing people enormous sums, the repubs did the same to Clinton for 8 years especially with the impeachment when it was clear to most that there were no impeachable offenses.
