Politics is religion in ANY party to people who are really into it. I'm not sure playing the "game" whatever you happen to think that is, has any bearing on the nature of the devotion. Republicans zealots are every bit as dedicated as Democratic zealots, imo, whether or not they play games with equal competence. And I would argue they do. They simply play different games..
