Walk into a Republican Party headquarters sometime (if you can catch them when they're open) and look around. You're likely to see a retiree just looking for a way to keep busy or a right wing frat boy who is just there to build his resum&#233. The only True Believers are the pro-lifers and maybe a few 2nd amendment enthusiasts, and they tend to be energized only at campaign time.

Walk into a Democrat Party headquarters and you'll see people there whose sole purpose in life is to be there. They are very energized. The unionists, feminists, and other camp followers hardly take a day off.
