The latest ploy by Big Business is to offer universal days ... a combination of sick days and vacation days. If you have a gallbladder attack, you can kiss your vacation plans good-bye for that year. Luckily our union local has a contract with separate wording covering vacation time and time off when one gets sick. Many nonunion workers, however, will be forced into universal days ... whether they like it or not.
