Iran - Munir - Stats,
Munir - The area is situated East-Southeast of Gach Saran oil field. The block itself is located in the South West region of Iran. Milaton, Rudak, Chahar Bisheh and Sulabedar oil and gas fields are located in the southwest of the area with net areal extent of 3,175 km2. Climate of the area can be classified as arid to semi arid with 250-500mm of rainfall, Maximum and minimum average temperatures are 45oC and-0oC according to the seasons. Black-top roads, Power lines and Telephone lines networks have sufficiently covered the area. Water could be supplied either by river or tube wells. Geological Sequences At least eight major stratigraphic mega sequences have been established throughout Zagros and the Persian Gulf, each of which represents a major tectonic event and bounded by major unconformities, each megasequence consists of sequences.
Megasequence No 1 and 2 are limited to Camberian to Devonian, Megasequence No 3 is from Mid Permian to Mid Triassic (Dehram group and Dashtak Fm.). Megasequence No 4 consists of Jurassic (Neyriz, Surmeh and Hith Fms.); Megasequence No 5 is limited to Lower Cretaceous (Fahliyan, Gadvan and Dariyan Fms), Megasequence No 6 consists of Mid Cretaceous (Kazhdumi and Sarvak Fms) Megasequence No7 is limited to Upper Cretaceous (Sugah, Ilam and Gurpi Fms.) Megasequence No 8 consists of the Last Cretaceous and total Tertiary (Pabdeh, Jahrom, Asmari Fms and Fars group).
MDBOZagros Basin Structural FrameworkMDNM From northeast to southwest Zagros could be divided into 3 zones, Zagros Main Thrust and crush zone, Thrust belt and Folded belt, Folded belt might be subdivided into Izeh Salient, Lorestan Salient, Dezful Embayment, Fars Salient and Bandar Abbas Hinterland. The main part of the basin is fold dominated. the folding mechanism is concentric with the lower detachment within Hormoz salt at 10-15km depth and upper detachment in the Gachsaran evaporites or its equivalents. Growth structures as a result of either Hormoz salt movement or basement uplift should also be considered.
Available Data Geological map in 1:250,000 scale has covered the area but 1:100,000 scale is available for 70% of the block, topographic maps in various scales, spot satellite photos and aerial photos in 1:50,000, 1:750,000 scales are available, 1,000km 2D seismic could be used for reprocessing. MDBOPrevious Exploration ResultsMDNM As a result of exploration drilling above mentioned oil and gas field was discovered and Seqanat and Shahranjan structures were found clay or water bearing. The main objectives specified during the long time of prospecting are Asmari Lst, Bangestan Lst, and Khami carbonates.
Due to the presence of Gachsaran formation (Anhydrite, salt and marl) in the surface of the area for the seismic acquisition the energy sources should be deeply buried, then it would demand special drilling equipment suitable for airlift. Minimum Expected Exploration Scope of Work 1- Geological mapping in 1:100,000 scale for less than 1,000 km, 2- Probable 2D seismic acquisition for 2,000 km, 3- 2,500 km2 3D, 4- Processing of 2,000km 2D, and 2,500 km2 3D and reprocessing of 1.
