Carly history? Not without a big parachute at shareholders expense?
According to Bob Brinker today, the feature article in the Barrons weekly that came out this weekend is about HP and Carly. Mentioned some parts of it:
127% of HP's profits are from printers, ink, etc.
Dell somehow makes money in PCs and servers right now, and "even Compaq makes a little." HP, negative. Didn't Michael Dell say something about companies that use AMD, like he's gaining share on all of them?
Of course, a lot of noise that HP should get out of PCs.
Not from the article, but there also is a lot of grumbling from HP employees around here, and even talk of a walkout. Walkout without a union: unheard of.
One thing though, it's not easy for high tech CEOs to look good in a recession like we have. Like football coaches and QBs, they get too much credit when things are good, and too much blame when they're bad.
