Chris, that was wonderful! I had a similar experience this afternoon... my patio backs up to a wildlife preserve. I put out corn for the deer. I was on my patio working with my plants when "my" deer walked up to feast on the corn. Usually they run away until I go inside. I remained very still and quiet and they walked up to the corn... about five feet away! They stood and looked me in the eye for a few moments and then began to eat. I have three doe, two fawns, and sometimes the bucks come by. It was a very special time for me. I live in Austin where it is terribly hot right now. Your description of the nice walk and the wild blackberries brought tears to my eyes. It has been a good day. Norma
