Kastel, Hardy .. heck I born and raised on a farm in North Dakota and if I had to I could make it without a grocery store, and no problem with sub zero weather. <ggg> I should make it clear where my head is at when I talk about costs. We are both retired, (well kind of; my husband is a part time visiting scientist for Carnegie Mellon University and I do some math analysis for folks in Minneapolis) so I look at our savings, pension income as well as Social Security income. When I look at what it takes to live here and other places as it is based on the older crowd with much less need for capital, and it is certainly different for younger folks that are working and trying to build sufficient funds for retirement.
