CB, don't forget the energy and consequent CO2 which went into the production of your SUV. Don't forget the energy required to build the roads, build and drive the tankers to the gas station, build the gas station etc, build the ducting for your air conditioning, the steel for your fridge etc. The CO2 you produce is FAR more than the direct energy consumption [which could be all nuclear for all I know].

You are a hero in the 'save the world' stakes. You are directly responsible for bringing back to life thousands of kilograms per year of plants and animals by providing the food for them. It's great that you get some benefits while achieving such a wonderful thing.

There are not many people in the world prepared to work so hard to pay for the digging of all those fossil fuels then spend their lives driving around freeways to produce and distribute the CO2. Most of us enjoy a quieter village life.

Take a drive to celebrate!
