Dear Andreas:

For all three mobile CPUs (P3, P3M and A4) TDPmax is the same number (34W, 20.5W, and 25W respectively at 1 GHz). I looked at all the datasheets in question (latest rev). Maximum Thermal Dissipation at Specified Junction/Case Temperature running worst case of publicly available software (not all tested (of course!)). None of these values specifies absolute peak electrical or thermal power. No complex logic (CPU) design can get every transistor to switch at the same time (this would break much of the logic and thus would indicate a failure).

Pete
