At 25 points per generation shift we don't have to go back very many generations until we are in the whole. Exponential? Try it and see how far back you can go before humans would be stupider than dirt.

To be sure, we know that people raised in stimulating environments display more intelligence than those raised in dull ones ... just as an athlete is likely to perform better after a training program, but it doesn't mean that there has been any corresponding shift in the genome.

Even if the average is dropping, if the total IQ points alive is increasing due to population increase, there is an overall gain and that's what's been happening.

I suppose that by this logic flies or sea cucumbers must have the largest total IQ pool of any species.
