There's a hunger to return to what people have for thousands of years known is really the "right" way to live.

Trend lines don't go in a straight line and there are always some fits and starts, and some contrarians, but I don't think that this genie will go back into the bottle short of a cataclysm, which is always possible. Failing that, the trend line will hold. IMO.
I think you're right about the developing world, but as long as we're the 800 pound gorilla, which will probably be for a while, it doesn't really matter. Besides, pop music and affluence will get most of them on the trend line, too, sooner or later.
But, of course, we'll have to wait for a while to find out.
