I have his Black Book -- interesting-- 1963 by EP Dutton--
the book cover is original and perfect but the title page has a hole thru it from something in a truck so many years ago-- I had it in a black thick protective book cover all these years--

Mos gus yod na
Khyl so od tung

on page 59 I have this underlined- "I live only in my imagination" -- cool
I have Durrell's autobiography by MacNiven but just read scant parts-- also Tunc and one of his tourista books-- I forget -- have to look-- the man made me have a dictionary by my side reading Alexandria's Q -well all of them-- too bad it didn't rub off and also embarrassed a lady from France visiting my neighbors visiting me and I was dying for a translation of Old French that he wrote-- she whispered some to Vicki (my neighbor) and they took the book home and never gave it back-

"When torpid winter covers
The city and its lovers,
The cold finality of snow
Whitens the signs and clear defines
The way mortality must go."

Lawrence Durrell -Dark Labyrinth
