Mani- As an engineer with 5 years experience in thermal design,

Well I got you beat there, I've been doing thermal since 76.

Thermal design engineer with tier one OEM's get spec they must meet.

Most PC boards get designed in Taiwan. Ten years ago, there was only minimal consideration given to thermal and reliability. It's a little better now, but the process is still rather uncontrolled. We all know that the priority in Taiwan is low cost and fast design time.

This is just to point out that while your company may use Pd_max as the design criteria, it isn't going to be that way everywhere. Which means that you were getting a bit carried away.. And I don't think wannabmw appreciated it.
