Zapata is still Bush controlled even though GHWB sold his interest in it decades ago because it was said once to be CIA-linked. Therefore I guess it always CIA-linked and Bush-linked in perpetuity. This is kooky conspiracy reasoning, of course. I know the oil and gas industry supported Bush big-time financially and they want to get as many favors as possible. But it is possible to make too much of this. Look at the big lease sale (#181) in the eastern Gulf which was cut back recently. It was reduced by the Bush administration from 5.9M acres to 1.5M acres - everything east of a line going south from the Florida - Alabama border was removed from the sale. And this was done at the request of Jeb Bush and the Florida legislature which we all remember from the recent election is Republican controlled. So despite all the vaunted oil and gas influence in this pro-industry administration and pro-industry party, the industry still doesn't get to drill anywhere near Florida.
