It is simply good business to apologize all the time to anyone who complains- unless it interferes with news policy. Isn't that the old tradition of "The Customer Is ALways Right"?

I can recall our news paper apologizing on any number of occasions. They are pretty craven. If you write them a letter and tell them you were offended they will apologize.

I wonder why an apology from a Newspaper would be an Issue to anyone? Is there something subversive about apologizing to people who have been offended? Even if it is something other people feel they should not be offended about? I have always thought it is pretty silly when people with rather strange religious beliefs that are out of the mainstream get offended by the behavior of the middle of society- but if a business wanted to apologize to them, would I care? No. Why should I?
