I wondered why mxim was holding up so well last week relative to the other semis, and today Goldman puts them on their recommend list. Surely nobody knew in advance... But why not upgrade mxim, it's only trading at 13x sales in a slowing economy. IMO, these Goldman guys are upgrading as a way to cover/kiss Abby Joseph Cohen's ass, as she has called for the markets to go higher, but has so far been wrong. I like Lehman's analysis better, soon Lehman will pass Goldman as the premier investment bank.
