Thanks for the report on the Cyrix GX chip.

A few comments...

1) UMA design has never taken off because of the
performance hit. DRAM is dirt cheap anyway, making the
point moot. And we're moving beyond EDO to SDRAM
and who knows what.
2) L2 caches are becoming cheap, too.
3) Integrated Sound Blaster saves no money.
4) The 5x86 has always been a 486-killer. Intel killed it first.
5) Availability 1H96? Oh well.
6) "If so, this innovative new design will help the company
maintain its strong growth in 1996." Heard any earnings
pre-announcements lately? ;-)

As Eric said, Intel already has all this and more. Funny how
all these internet plays always seem to announce products
"in development" yet only Wintel delivers anything.

The only thing resembling an NC so far is a Newton. Yech.
