I once put a rough calculation on amd thread what would justify soi. It looked like even marginal performance increase was justifiable under "my assumptions". As far as ibm vs amd then it is the same process... Could you repost that here and/or link it in??? Also, what "assumptions" did you use... Did they include 1) 4x to 6x wafer cost increase and 2) a cost of yield loss model?
