| Good ole Bum. He was a good coach and a true Texan. But there are two Texan "bums" I'd like to throw out. Actually more than that if you include DeLay, Armey, Gramm and Hutchinson, Baker, Enron's CEO, etc. Cost us all a lot of money this year those people. But yes I do love Texas. In fact I'm responsible for one of the great mythical media icons of Texas though I can't tell you who or I'd give away my identity. My creation though benign may have helped Bush-Cheney a lot. So sometimes I chafe at the thought. My creation is heroic, generous, fair, righteous and charitable. That is one side of Texas. Unfortunately Bush-Cheney and crew represent the other side, the dark side of Texas which is greed, dirty politics, cover-ups, white male rule, swindles, collusion, unapologetic cheating, pollution, corruption and the rich getting away with "murder". If you know Texas this is also a part of the whole. Although your average Texan is a very decent person the scoundrels often are the ones running things. Ironic really. Like two sides of America itself I guess. |
