But, I believe if you buy the blue chips of the industry you gotta better chance. Rarely can you get these jewels at bargain prices, now is one of those times.

The trick is figuring out who are the technological blue chips these days. Used to be IBM, MSFT, and INTC. EMC used to be an up-and-comer but it's staggering now as is CSCO.

IBM makes me nervous, at these prices, simply because they're too freaking big. One poorly performing division can drag down the others. Of course there are some who say that it's a little like buying a mutual fund. Your downside risk is offset by the divisions that are performing well.

I think MSFT and INTC might be good plays at these prices although I'm a little worried about INTC's competition.
