Hi Ken,

Welcome to the thread! I haven't found any better way to monitor BNDCY's price. I just treat it like a mutual fund NAV, which changes once a day.

I think Bandai will face equal competition from Tiger and Playmates from a technology standpoint (since they have _identical_ technology). Where Bandai has a chance is if kids decide that a Tamagotchi is "cooler" to own than a Nano Pet or GigaPet. The only way to find out about this is to see what brand kids are buying and using the most. Hopefully the teachers on this thread (oh Dennis....) can report to us how many of each kind of virtual pet they are confiscating from their students when school starts again in the Fall.

P.S. My poor virtual alien died this morning after I forgot about him yesterday and neglected him for 6 hours and then let him go to sleep without turning off the lights for another 3 hours. He died when I tried to discipline him to get him to eat. He was only 5 days old. I feel slightly guilty, but I am glad I only have 1 virtual pet to worry about now (and only 1 to wake me up promptly at 7 AM whether I want to wake up or not). I found out that unlike with the Tamagotchi, I can't put the battery tab back in the GigaPet and turn off the batteries. Once it's on, it's on.
