Hi Agustus,
I think it is fine for people to have differing opinions. I do not think it is fine for people to re-write history for the benefit of their ideology. The referenced poster was clearly non-responsive to my inquiries about the restructuring of the utility industry, the fact that the utility industry largely wrote AB 1890, the fact that the parent PG&E is enjoying tremendous business success as it has dumped it transmission and distribution business on the bankruptcy courts and fails utterly to have an sense of materiality, as I stated in my comments on the discrepancy between the minor losses CDWP is currently suffering, while stabilizing the market to a remarkable degree, vis a vis the horrendous beating the California consumer/State coffers were suffering earlier this year due to rapacious market power. When the correspondent you mention addresses these issues in a realistic and forthright manner, I will be as tame as a pussy cat and purr in her ear. Until the good lady starts to address reality, I will maintain a combative stance. How else do you propose to deal with the cunning and greedy marketers and their willing apologists. Roll over on my back? Good grief.
Agustus, I wasn't trying to be a little rough on that correspondent. I was trying to utterly demolish her argument. Apparently, not quite forcefully enough, judging by your comments. <w>
God forbid that we start to chastise each other for different views. After all - that's what makes SI great right?
Wrong. She made a fact case that was utterly based on ideologically held views. This is anathema to well run, fair and honest markets. What many of us, myself included, come to SI for is not to express "views", opinions, or beliefs. Good grief, we got churches for that. What I come to SI for is to learn and to share the truths I know. The truth. Not some cockamamie re-write of history.
Best, Ray :) |
