Thanks, that was very helpful. Actually, the Micron looks pretty good vs. the Dell; twice the memory, 50% more hard disk, more battery life, and a pound lighter. More expensive, but with the extra memory and hard disk, maybe worth it.

Interesting that neither IBM nor Compaq nor Toshiba made the top five performance listing -- I thought IBM was supposed to have the best reviewed laptop around.
