Lowest: Jun. 28 - Jul. 1, 2001 52% Approve 34% Disapprove
There are few signs that the stem cell announcement has made any substantial change so far … Bush’s job approval rating over the weekend was 57%, little changed from the 55% he received the weekend before, and in general little changed from the mid-50% range Bush has been getting for several months … Also, the poll shows little change in most other measures of Bush included on the weekend poll compared to pre-stem cell measures, including personality and leadership, agreement on issues, sharing of values, strong and decisive leadership, and keeping promises … At the same time, while giving Bush high ratings for being sincere, the public is somewhat more likely to say that Bush made his stem cell decision for political reasons than based on any deeply held beliefs.
