Evidence of what happens in B-C GOP "small government".
We had a big surplus. Those were revenues (taxes) taken in over the Clinton years as we were paying down the deficit. Only fair to give some back to hard-working Americans. Dems agree. But look at what happened instead under Bush.
Just as much was given (back) to the 40 richest families as to the 40 million least wealthy familes. So the rich get richer. Great for them though it hasn't helped our economy and some like Bill Gates didn't even want it. Next, the corporate special interests now have greater power than ever, esp in the energy field. Huge soft money contributions to B-C give them a field say unless the Senate can stop them. Government dergulation (Bush-Cheney looking the other way with the public till open for grabs) combined with B-C offering the same group a 33 billion tax break (which will pay for their "explorations" of our wilderness areas) and after a 9 month gouging an amount equal to the entire tax break ends up in Big Energy's pockets. And that is just in the first year. We have three (and God forbid 7) left to go.

End result (and I'm not being paranoid here) OUR ENTIRE SURPLUS ENDS UP IN BIG ENERGY'S POCKETS ALMOST TAX-FREE.
If this is "smaller government" please NO THANKS!

This alone is reason to fight back and be very-very concerned about these oil cowboys who haev been given our White House. OUR White House. OUR land to try and rape too.
OUR air we breathe, OUR water we drink, OR public forests and wild species which will be harmed.

Second big reason to vote them out, their torpedoing of campaign finance reform. This is institutionalized legalized corruption plain and simple. And most politicians are sick of it, even if they are addicted. Yet the GOP party machine refuses to let go. Despite heroic efforts by McCain and others. At the very least the Bush-Cheney crowd will attempt to water it down until reform means very little. It's all about their special interest money which COSTS US ALL much-much more, maybe 100 times more, maybe 1000 times more, plus clear harm to our environment and social services.
