Hi JGD,

I'm also a oldie but goodie and I go back to the early 70s when no one wanted IBM shares after the main frame problem or whatever it was. Your right, in the past the market always came back except do you recall how many years we had of slow to nothing market moves following the Viet Nam War ? The fear here is that the market gets stuck in low gear and doesn't show strength going forward. Everyone is trying to pick the qtr that the turn-a-round will begin (again). One thing for sure is that the goldielocks economy is long gone. So the great market from '97 through mid 2000 is one for the history books in my view.

Regarding EMC: Is their debt near zero like reportedly CSCO's is ? Do you think they have been aggressive on cost control like CSCO seems to be or is EMC dragging it's feet in that area ?

Gut level I don't see a tech rebound until next summer2002.
