You people gave me so much help a few months ago that I thought I'd come back for a second helping.

I run a HP Pavilion, 500mh, 19gb HD, and mostly stock charting, analyzing programs. NO games. My problem has been an on and off thing for a few weeks now. When I try to shut down each night, sometimes the "Windows is shutting down" screen will come up and then the computer just freezes. No mouse, no keyboard response, nothing.

In their wisdom, HP did not build this computer with a "reset" button. The ON/OFF switch does ON only. My only recourse is to unplug the machine and start over. My machine is about 2 years old.

Any ideas? Thanks!!

Ken
