That is a terrible post. If the rich didn't pay higher rates all western governments would go bankrupt immediately and we'd be a third world type economy with only two classes. Whoever started that vile and ridiculous "dinner" post ought to be ashamed. Such thinking would bankrupt SS, Medicare, Education and even military programs and basically put all power and money into the hands of a few. There would basically be no social programs and corporations would end up controlling everything. You'd only get health care if you could afford the prices or if it's park of a perks package. Millions would starve, go broke and die. It would be particularly tough on single women, single mothers and the people most in need. Abortions would sky-rocket because children would be unaffaordable except for the affluent. And the poorer children would have a much harder time making it in society. Furthermore, charities would suffer. Who would give if there's no nice deduction? So say goodbye to all your favorite non-profit institutions.

The US is already a tax haven for the world's rich which is one reason they all want to move here. We don't need to turn ourselves into the Cayman Islands, Monaco or Hong Kong. Also the rich have so many tax loop-holes and write-offs they never pay close to 35% or whatever it is now anyway. In fact your average factory worker already pays more in taxes than most high income earners who can write off travel, entertainment, servants, trusts, many large purchases wihch can be claimed as business items, etc. The middle-class has no such luxury. Ironically most conservatives who think the rich ought to be taxed less aren't even rich themselves. As if the rich need their help. Hard to explain why they care.

Care to explain why you would post such hog-wash?
