Fred, price war heating up between INTC and AMD.

14:45 ET Chip Notes : Merrill Lynch's Joe Osha comments on INTC/AMD price war... Thinks INTC continues
to sell in volume at prices far below list; much anticipated price cuts will serve largely to bring stated prices a little
closer to what company is actually charging... thinks AMD is playing the same game, selling well below list; in recent
roadshow, AMD stated that it has no intention of losing market-share on price; expects AMD to respond to
whatever INTC dishes out.

Characteristics of a recession: (1) excessive inventory, followed by (2) price erosion. Looks like we're heading into the second stage.

Regards,

Tom
