[MIT "study" is nonsense] We have done some discussion of this DAM "study" on the Westell thread starting with techstocks.com and techstocks.com. The authors of this study first claim a problem that may not even exist (too expensive or overloaded backbone networks) and then propose a solution that would do nothing to alleviate the problems if the backbone load proves indeed to be a problem. The details of last mile distribution with HFC or ADSL with or without DAM will alter nothing in the load on the backbone networks. Andreas
