Not just Israelis. In fact more than Israelis, the diaspora relies critically on the existance of Israel and it's constant wars as a rallying cry. Of the tiny minority of diaspora Jews who oppose Israel's racist policies, most find themselves suddenly becoming ardent Zionists whenever a war pops up. Then, when the war ends, they go back to being reasonable. The Warburgs that I quoted earlier are a great example of this.
