But I have no doubt you will explain.

Yeah, I knew you wouldn't know what "pulling a JLA" meant but I couldn't resist. He has this "charming" way of avoiding comment by pretending to misunderstand. One of his pet topics is the lefty bias in the media so I recently posted something from the NYT that articulated very well the righty position on an issue as a demonstration of their even-handedness. I pasted in the text of the item plus the link. A while later, I asked him why he hadn't commented and he said he didn't subscribe to the NYT. We went back and forth a few times and I pasted in the article once again but he stuck with his position that he didn't subscribe to the Times. I don't know if he read what I posted and didn't want to comment or if he's so hung up on the bias of the Times that he refused to read the text I posted. Clearly his lack of subscription to the Times was not an impediment.

You and I have had a number of discussions about how we treat people on SI that we dislike or don't agree with. It occurred to me that you just didn't want to discuss my suggestion that civic duty, missionary spirit, or enlightened self-interest might outweigh one's displeasure with dealing with them.
